Content Indicators
|
The content indicators branch is intended to be a less geographically specific tool than the 'age rating' used by convention, for warning about things that might cause offence. Obviously there is still a degree of subjectivity involved, but hopefully it will prove useful for parents with delicate children, or children with delicate parents.

Nudity
Are naked humans shown?
Nudity is the state of wearing no clothing. Based on scientific research it is estimated that humans have been wearing clothing for 650,000 years. It is related to the concept of modesty and is sometimes used to refer to wearing significantly less clothing than expected by the conventions of a particular culture and situation, and in particular exposing the bare skin or intimate parts.
Especially gracious fanservice shows tend to show their, mostly female, characters, most often without any clothes, only hiding genitals through the means of additions like steam.
Category Weight + Naked skin is shown, e.g. naked buttocks. E.g. sitting around naked only barely covered by a towel at a hot springs. Wearing skimpy swimsuits usually would not count. * Breasts (without nipples) are shown. Transformation nudity may fall into this case. *+ Fully exposed breasts with nipples are shown, e.g. during a shower scene, at the hot springs or bath house. Usually the maximum rating used in ecchi anime. ** Full frontal nudity (visible genitals) with nipples. Note: Rarely used in ecchi anime. *** Go all the way to *** for close up genitals of either gender, even if pixeled out in a particular release.
Bit of sarcasm: + for an ankle, *** if you glimpse a garter... er... I guess stuff changes with times. Nipples seem to be a particular issue at the moment in certain parts.
