Titles are how you identify an anime - there are many different kinds, both official ones and common ones as well as abbreviations. No anime can have have the exact same title as another. The Official title is listed at the very top of each [[animeentries|anime entry]], and at the top of the details table next to the image, the rest of the titles are listed as well as what kind of title they are. Anyone can add a title to any anime, with the restriction that if there already is an anime with that exact same title, it won't work. Please use the [[search]] function. Only [[User:Mods|mods]] and the one who added the anime can remove titles from an anime. If you feel the removal of a title is necessary, but you don't have access to this, please use the [http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=forum&id=21 Change Requests forum].

In order to add a title to an anime, you need to click the "Synonym/Short Title" link at the bottom of an [[animeentries|anime entry]]. This will lead you to the "AddAnimeTitle" page, where you can see (and remove if it was you who added the anime) all the titles that are currently added to the anime, as well as a text field to enter a new title, and a list where you can choose which kind of title it is.
