File comment standard (workprint)

Important: All comments have to be in English!

Additional dubs/subs

Currently its not possible to add different audio/subtitle combinations to a file than the default ones. So if there is a file with e.g. Japanese, English and Spanish audio only Japanese and English can be added as audio track.
If there is a file with more audio/subtitle tracks you can post a comment about it in the description field.

Examples

Additional dubs: English, German, Italian
Additional subs: Dutch, German, Russian, Spanish

External subtitle files

For some raw videos external subtitle files (.ssa/.srt/.sub&.idx) are available. To make sure people get the right subtitle files for their raw video a comment is added to the subtitle files.

Examples

External subtitles for fid xxxx *)
External subtitles for fid xxxx, yyyy, zzzz
External subtitles for fid xxx1-xxx5
External subtitles for [AHQ] release **)

*) xxxx represents the fileid (fid) of the video the subtitle file was made for
**) this is only used for big subtitle batches for a whole anime (e.g. O1 Subtitles) atm. might get changed

Files without intro/outro/preview

There are several files without Intro/Opening, Outro/Ending or Preview. Some people cut them out to save space so they can fit more episodes on one CD.
But since Intros/Outros are part of the anime/episode we are adding comments about them missing to the file.

Examples

Intro missing
Outro missing
Preview missing
Intro/Outro/Preview missing

Joint episodes

Joint episodes are official releases of two episodes in one file or when they were aired right after eachother. A recent examples with such "joint episodes" would be Naruto.
This is NOT meant for inofficially (e.g. by fansub groups) merged episodes or double episodes from non-japanese DVDs.

Examples

Joint episodes 26-27
Joint episodes 122-123

Single-/Multichannel audio

These comments are meant to tell people if the audio of a file differs from standard 2 channel (stereo) sound.

Examples

Audio: 1 channel
Audio: 5.1 channel

Dual audio files are to be ignored for the moment as there is no standard for them yet.

Special versions

Special versions are "Director's Cuts", "Remastered Versions" and such.
If such a special version has a different name, e.g. the "2003 Renewal Version" of NGE: EoE, use that name for the comment.

Examples

Director´s Cut
Remastered Version
