Category Weight + to ***
For all the categories in this section choose (if applicable) a weight between + (slight) to *** (excessive) describing the worst case of specific category occurrence in the anime.

The content indicators branch is intended to be a less geographically specific tool than the 'age rating' used by convention, for warning about things that might cause offence. Obviously there is still a degree of subjectivity involved, but hopefully it will prove useful for parents with delicate children, or children with delicate parents.

Nudity

Are naked humans shown?

Nudity is the state of wearing no clothing. Based on scientific research it is estimated that humans have been wearing clothing for 650,000 years. It is related to the concept of modesty and is sometimes used to refer to wearing significantly less clothing than expected by the conventions of a particular culture and situation, and in particular exposing the bare skin or intimate parts.

Especially gracious fanservice shows tend to show their, mostly female, characters, most often without any clothes, only hiding genitals through the means of additions like steam.

Category Weight +   Naked skin is shown (excludes: wearing bikini, swimsuit). E.g. sitting around naked only barely covered by a towel at a hot springs.
  *   Breasts (without nipples) and naked buttocks are shown. Transformation nudity may fall into this case.
*+  Fully exposed breasts with nipples are shown, e.g. during a shower scene, at the hot springs or bath house. Usually the maximum rating used in ecchi anime.
**  Full frontal nudity with nipples. Note: Rarely used in ecchi anime.
*** Go all the way to *** for close up genitals of either gender, even if pixeled out in a particular release.

Bit of sarcasm: + for an ankle, *** if you glimpse a garter... er... I guess stuff changes with times. Nipples seem to be a particular issue at the moment in certain parts.

Reminder A discussion on updating this content indicator was held in this [CReq] (18.09.2015).

Sex

Is there sex? Known as intercourse, the ultimate bond of love.

Category Weight +   If it's off-screen or 'implied' vote +.
*** Ascend right up to outright porn with ***.

Violence

Is violence prevalent? Physical force against self or other, compelling action against one's will on pain of being hurt.

Category Weight +   If slapstick violence is prominent add a +.
*** For popping eyeballs and close up disembowelment bestow ***.
