A multi-episode file is a file with at least 2 episodes. Those are troublesome as AniDB can only associate 1 Episode to 1 File atm. Add the episodes like described in the How to add new episodes-guideline, but with with the following episode titles.
There are 2 cases we have to consider for this. In both people of course still have to add generic files to their lists. That workaround can't be avoided.
Case 1 - The release is done completely in multi-episode files
If a group releases all episodes in multi-episode files (e.g. Future Boy Conan), these files should be added to specials O (Other Episodes)
- Episode[s] xx-yy
- where x and y can, if necessary, be followed by (Part s of t) to indicate split episodes
Examples
- the file contains episode 1,2 and 3
- O1: Episodes 1-3
- 3 Episodes got merged by the R1 company and then later cut by the dvd-ripper
- O1: Episodes 1-3 (Part 1 of 2)
- O2: Episodes 1-3 (Part 2 of 2)
Case 2 - Only a few files are done in multi-episode files
- If a group releases just some files that contain multiple episodes (e.g. the multi-episodes in Prince of Tennis). These files should be added to the first episode they contain and a filecomment in this form should be added:
- Joint episodes xx-yy
Additional note to reduce confusion
Why is Ebichu 24 episodes when Azumanga Daioh is 26 episodes?
Ebichu was aired 2 episodes at a time; Azumanga Daioh was aired 5 episodes at a time
This question can be answered pretty fast by checking their Japanese homepages.
