These Categories were killed for good:
- Rivalry <-- Nearly every anime has some sort of rivalry, could've been used as a placeholder, but no point, really
- Characters <-- contained too specific cases that were mostly useless
- Genre <-- was fully replaced by Elements
- Black Comedy <-- too few examples for that in anime
- Satire <-- too few examples for that in anime
- Intrigue <-- same as Thriller
- Mystery <-- seems rather pointless with it's subcats moved
- Drama <-- redundant without it's subcats
- Presentation <-- just a classification cat and not used anyway
- Plot <-- just a classification cat and not used anyway
- WWI <-- i have serious trouble thinking of a ww1 anime ww2 is a common setting, but www1 O_o maybe one for the time period around the beginning of the meiji era/bakumatsu and stuff. that's a common reused setting
- Western <-- too few anime in that cat, Early Reins being the only real western, others have elements of it, mainly gunfights, but are fantasy/sci-fi in theme: Trigun, Wild Arms, Gun Frontier, Cosmo Warrior Zero and possibly some other Leji stuff.
- Priests <-- not important at all.
- Magicians <-- Magic -> people using magic -> magicians useless
- Detectives <-- Detective -> Detectives duh
- Reporters <-- pointless
- Vehicles <-- classifying cat and useless after subcats are gone
- Soldiers <-- if there is military there are soldiers -> pointless
- Pilots <-- if there is military there are soldiers -> pointless
- Office <-- h setting cat, but rather pointless IMHO
- Hospital <-- h setting cat, seldom played out in regular anime to an extent where it is useful
- Mansion <-- h setting cat, but rather pointless IMHO
- Prison <-- o_O why was that added?
- Moon <-- rather pointless. How many anime that are set on the moon are there? 2? 3? who cares
- Straight <-- pointless. it's the good old "other" cat
- Wilderness <-- pointless as well
- Desert <-- pointless as well
- Jungle <-- pointless as well
- Wasteland <-- pointless as well
- Scientists <-- uhhhh right
- Teachers <-- at school there are teachers... so i got told
- Astronauts <-- if there is space there are... yeah you get the drift
- Faeries <-- never really used as an important part of the anime. at most some ignoreable sidechars
- Spirits <-- never really used as an important part of the anime. at most some ignoreable sidechars
- Princesses <-- unimportant
- Monks <-- unimportant
- Space <-- doublecat
- Marine <-- doublecat
- Ships <-- if there is space there are spaceships
- Hunters <-- if then only bounty hunter matter
- Beasts <-- silly
- Shrine <-- rarely used as the centre of the story
- Sim <-- silly i guess
- Deities <-- somewhat silly
- Mechanical <-- rather pointless
- Space Opera <-- probably not needed
- Steampunk <--- probably not needed
- Justice <-- I dunno why/where this has gone lol?
- Slice of Life <-- half covered by coming out of age, but stuff like ykk stays unclassified, replaced by Daily Life?
- Comic Fantasy = Fantasy elements / appropriate fantasy setting + comedy
- Character Development <-- just a classification cat and not used anyway
- Gore <-- pointless as well, can be covered by weigh using Violence
- Monster <-- pointless as well, was abused and added to anime with no horror elements at all
- Assassins <-- pointless as well, very rarely used
- Submarine <-- doublecat
- Artificial Intelligence <-- there is rarely an anime centred around this. Usually you just deal with androids
- Pirates <-- too detailed and too lil' examples of useful usage. covered by Underworld
- Thieves <-- too detailed and too lil' examples of useful usage. covered by Underworld
- Enemas <-- downgraded to tags. The weight never went above ** and in most cases that was probably too much to begin with. It's there for a good number of anime, but only for too short of time/scenes to justify as a category.
